Natural design & dirt-repellent surfaces
The sideboard by designer Bell Kink is made of FSC-certified solid wood and has been treated with high-quality wood oil. This makes the surfaces water and dirt repellent (suitable for plants). The hand-sanded sides of the shelves are an additional detail that gives the sideboard an extra touch of sophistication alongside its natural look.
Elegant & versatile storage space
The sideboard is the perfect solution for the living room or dining room. With its generous dimensions of 90 x 164 x 38 cm (H x W x D) and 3 large open compartments, it offers plenty of storage space for books, plants, decorative items, mementos and crockery.
Sturdy & robust
The robust construction makes the sideboard a reliable everyday companion. Made from high-quality FSC solid wood, the sideboard is extremely stable and resilient (min. 100 kg).
Easy to clean & practical
The dirt and water-repellent surface of the sideboard is particularly easy to care for and is ideal for placing plants on. Treated with high-quality wood oil, the natural beauty of the wood is preserved and protected from wear and tear at the same time.
Modularly expandable
A particular advantage of this sideboard is its modularity. It is compatible with all modules in the M series and can be flexibly extended - either with additional shelves or other add-on parts. This allows the sideboard to be transformed into a stylish room divider shelf without tools.

Sideboard - order with style
You probably know it all too well: unused vases block the way, books pile up because there's no more room on the shelf, and the seasonal decorations haven't been stowed away yet either. There is a perfect solution for all of this, to store everything neatly in the living room sideboard: the sideboard. This versatile piece of furniture impresses with open shelves, storage areas behind doors and drawers that provide a suitable place for all your accessories. Depending on the size, you can use the sideboard for different purposes. Find out everything you need to know here.
The origins of the sideboard
The sideboard, a slightly different type of chest of drawers, became popular in the 18th century when a piece of furniture was needed that was more practical than a chest and a cupboard. It began as a multi-tiered chest and developed into a half-height wooden sideboard. As it made clothes and objects easier to reach, the piece of furniture was called a "commode", the French word for convenient. It was used by high society as a weekly chest of drawers with seven drawers to store an outfit for each day. This form of storage was also valued in medicine, for example as a chemist's chest of drawers with numerous drawers for the orderly storage of tablets, needles and medical accessories. The design of chests of drawers and sideboards is usually lightweight, often made of sideboard oak or sideboard gray wood, inexpensive and easy to transport.
Differences between sideboard, chest of drawers, highboard and lowboard
It can be difficult to keep track of all these designations. Here are the most important differences summarized for you:
Chest of drawers:
The chest of drawers is similar to the sideboard, but is compact and takes up little space. Its main feature is drawers, which make it a useful addition to a closet for storing extra clothes.
Sideboard:
The sideboard is similar in shape, size and practicality to the chest of drawers, but is often fitted with shelves, racks and doors rather than just drawers.
Lowboard:
Lower in height than the dresser and sideboard, the lowboard serves as an ideal complement to your TV sideboard furniture, complete with convenient cable openings and optional LED lights for unforgettable media entertainment. It can also serve as a storage table with low chairs and poufs.
Highboard:
The highboard is higher than the sideboard and chest of drawers and therefore offers more storage space. It is often used as an alternative to a display cabinet and can showcase your items in style, especially if it is fitted with glass windows.
Which sideboard suits me?
As you can see, a sideboard can be used almost anywhere in your home, whether for laundry, cutlery, household items or decoration. Depending on the area of use, you have numerous options with the different types. Perhaps you are thinking about how you can decorate your sideboard or are still unsure which model is right for you. There are many designs, and you are sure to find the right modern sideboard, narrow sideboard or vintage side board for your needs. Sideboards are available in many colors and styles.
sideboard - FAQ
What to look out for when buying a sideboard?
- A sideboard should offer enough storage space and room. You should ask yourself what you want to store in the sideboard.
- Where should the sideboard be placed in the home?
- Does a sideboard with drawers or shelves make sense for me?
- What is the style of my room's furnishings and which sideboard suits it?
How do I care for a solid wood sideboard?
Solid wood furniture should only be wiped with a dry and perhaps a damp cloth. The solid wood sideboard should never be wiped with a wet cloth.
Light soiling can be cleaned with a woolen cloth and furniture soap. Grease-dissolving household cleaners, steam cleaners or harsh and abrasive cleaning agents should never be used.
